- Version de la méthode
- Lee 2010 original continuous Hepatic Steatosis Index arithmetic v1: HSI = 8 × [ALT (U/L) / AST (U/L)] + BMI (kg/m²) + 2 when the independently established original-model sex category is female + 2 when independently established diabetes mellitus is present; male and diabetes-absent coefficients are zero; raw continuous output only
- Population
- Adults for whom applicability of the original Korean health-checkup source context is independently established. The original cross-sectional study included 10,724 subjects: 5,362 ultrasonography-defined NAFLD cases and age- and sex-matched controls, randomly assigned to derivation and validation cohorts. BMI, the published binary female/male coefficient category, and diabetes mellitus status must be independently verified; ALT and AST must be contemporaneous U/L results from one assessment context with compatible assay identities.
- Limites et exclusions
- The published lower or upper diagnostic cutoffs, any result category, rule-in or rule-out statement, diagnosis, probability, sensitivity, specificity, imaging recommendation, lifestyle recommendation, prognosis, monitoring, management, treatment, or other clinical decision. · Automatic equivalence between the original ultrasonography-defined historical NAFLD outcome in Korean health-checkup subjects and a modern MASLD definition, pediatric use, or extrapolation to another population or analytical context without independently established applicability. · Inference of the original model's binary female/male coefficient category or diabetes status; substitution of gender identity, another sex-category scheme, impaired fasting glucose, glucose, HbA1c, medication data, or any proxy not present in the published equation. · Reversal of the published ALT/AST ratio to AST/ALT, mismatched or non-contemporaneous aminotransferases, incompatible assay or unit identities, inferred units, silently reinterpreted values, or unverified BMI.
