Version de la méthode
Measured total-calcium × inorganic-phosphate arithmetic v1: raw conventional product (mg²/dL²) = measured total calcium (mg/dL) × measured inorganic phosphorus mass (mg/dL); raw SI product (mmol²/L²) = measured total calcium (mmol/L) × measured inorganic phosphate (mmol/L); an inorganic-phosphate result in mg/dL explicitly identifies elemental-phosphorus mass, while mmol/L identifies amount concentration with one phosphorus atom per phosphate moiety; NIST nominal atomic weights 40.078 for calcium and 30.973761998 for phosphorus give 1 mg/dL calcium = (10 / 40.078) mmol/L, 1 mg/dL phosphorus = (10 / 30.973761998) mmol/L, and 1 mg²/dL² = [100 / (40.078 × 30.973761998)] mmol²/L²; outputs remain raw and unrounded. KDIGO 2017 describes the product as a mathematical construct and advises evaluating individual calcium and phosphate values together rather than using the product to guide CKD clinical practice
Population
People with contemporaneous quantitative measured total-calcium and measured inorganic-phosphate/phosphorus results from the same serum or plasma specimen and a compatible laboratory and clinical context, after verifying collection timing, specimen identity, the measured-total-calcium and inorganic-phosphate-as-phosphorus analyte identities, assay identities, reported units, and both source results.
Limites et exclusions
Measurements from different collection times or specimens, incompatible laboratory or clinical contexts or assays, mismatched data, or unverified collection timing, specimen, analyte, assay, unit, or source-result identities. · Albumin-corrected, adjusted, calculated, or ionized calcium in place of measured total calcium; whole-phosphate or phosphate-salt mass in place of elemental-phosphorus mass for mg/dL input; inferred identities or units; or substitution or derivation of a missing result. · Any target, cutoff, threshold, reference range, result category, calcification-risk statement, diagnostic classification, diagnosis, prognosis, dialysis-management recommendation, treatment, management, or other clinical decision.
